Ben’s practice focuses on serving clients with business, real estate and estate planning matters.
His business practice includes formation, business planning, capitalization, sales, acquisitions
and succession planning. He also represents clients in contract drafting and negotiation,
emphasizing a practical approach to negotiations. Ben’s real estate practice focuses on
residential and commercial real estate development, acquisition and sales. He has experience in
single building projects as well as large scale mixed use developments. Ben pairs his business
experience with his real estate practice to advise clients on all aspects of real estate
Ben’s estate planning practice focuses on serving clients with estates of all sizes, including
taxable estates and trust issues. He believes that getting to know each client and their individual
goals is the only way to effectively assist in planning for the future. While most people know
that they need a will, ensuring you and your family are taken care of in the event of an accident
or injury is as much a part of the estate planning process as determining who will receive your
assets. By getting to know his clients Ben can tailor his client’s estate plan to their needs and
discuss whether trusts are an appropriate vehicle to meet those needs. Ben’s business and real
estate experience enable him to assist in all phases of the planning process including business succession planning.
Ben is a member of the executive counsel of the Young Lawyers Section of the Larimer County Bar Association and a member of the
Larimer Humane Society Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Gast Johnson & Muffly, PC in 2015, Ben was an associate attorney at a Lincoln, Nebraska firm practicing general civil
law. He received his B.S. in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2008 and his
Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska in 2011, graduating with distinction. Ben is a Fort Collins native and it did not take
much to convince his wife Abbey to move back in 2015 to enjoy the Colorado lifestyle including skiing, biking, hiking and running.
Above all Ben enjoys spending time with his family.
